Volunteer Opportunities
Construction Volunteers
The most popular and visible of Habitat for Humanity’s volunteer opportunities, construction volunteers are continually in demand due to Habitat’s ongoing building efforts. No construction experience or skills are required, though volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Construction volunteers, led by Habitat for Humanity Stanislaus Staff, help us build Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, year-round. Volunteers undertake dozens of home construction tasks such as hanging drywall, painting, tiling, siding, insulating, and framing. Volunteers are scheduled on both an individual and group basis. All volunteers must contact our office to sign up at least two days in advance. Read more here.*
ReStore Volunteers
Next door to our Modesto office is the Habitat for Humanity Stanislaus ReStore, a discount remodeling store. We sell affordable home improvement items such as furniture, doors, cabinets, tile, tools, paint, windows, and much more. All proceeds go to fund our work here in Stanislaus County. Volunteers in our ReStore will help price items, clean the store, do inventory, assist customers, and help with incoming donations. The ReStore is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm please note Thurday hours 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and volunteers may come in after 8:30 am. Volunteers must contact our office to schedule a work day at least two days in advance. We also have a ReStore at 3124 McHenry Ave. This ReStore is open Monday through Saturday, 9am to 6pm.
